Biography
Dr. Sir Romesh Jayasinghe, OLS, KStI, Dh.C.(Florida), DPS(USA), FRSPH(UK), FTBCCT(UK), Grad.Dip.Ed.(UK), MBCS(UK) is the Founder and Psychotherapist at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) in Colombo-04, Sri Lanka. He is a professional counseling psychologist and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and a Certified Master Life Coach who provided psychological interventions using client-centered and cognitive and eclectic therapies for a variety of client groups with various emotional, adjustment and psychological disorders including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, eating disorders, sleep disorders, dissociative disorders, psychosomatic disoders, sexual dysfunctions and personality disorders. Dr. Jayasinghe is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (UK) and a Member of the International Council of Psychologists (USA), a Member of the International Association of Applied Psychology and a Member of the Association for Psychological Sciences (USA). He is also a Fellow of the British Council for Complementary Therapies and a Member of The New York Academy of Sciences and also a Member of the British Computer Society in the UK. He is also a Full Member of the Society for Mental Health Research (SMHR), Australia and a Member of the Australian and New Zealand Mental Health Association. In addition to his clinical practice, he also lectures at the Institute for undergraduate and Diploma level courses in the fields of General Psychology, Counseling Psychology and Psychotherapy, Clinical Psychology, Child and Developmental Psychology, Educational Psychology and Abnormal Psychology. His research interests are mostly in the fields of counseling psychology, applied child and developmental psychology, clinical hypnotherapy, psychopathology and psychotherapy.
