Margaret Reece BA Hons is passionate about helping people with C-PTSD overcome their struggles. Through her life-time experiences of C-PTSD and the research of leading trauma experts, she aims to narrow the gap between therapist and client. A childhood, devoid of any predictable adult attachment figure, plus cumulative trauma, led to both emotions and thought processes shutting down. She was hospitalised, aged 19, for circa four years, given 30-40 ECTs, insulin therapy and medication; no success. She divorced herself from professional help to avoid life-time institutionalisation. In her sixties, she sought professional help; she had been misdiagnosed, aged 19, with what would now be known as schizo-affective disorder, and inappropriate treatment given. Two further misdiagnoses followed within the last ten years. The anti-psychotic medication she had taken for 56 years became unavailable, no warning; no substitute available. She set out to transform herself and others. Her book, Hope Restored: a guide to embracing the storms of C-PTSD is self-help, interspersed with memoir. It is being published later this year.

Clare Henn-Haase obtained her PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, Illinois, USA. She worked in the field of trauma for over 15 years. Prior to taking a position at NUS, she was involved in clinical research and academia as well as clinical practice where she worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco, USA and the San Francisco Veterans Affairs for over 10 years followed by accepting a position as Assistant Professor and Clinical Director of the PTSD Research Program at New York University Medical Center, New York, USA across four years. She is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in USA and is certified in several types of trauma treatment including dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, cognitive processing therapy, and prolonged exposure for the treatment of PTSD. She is an active member of the International Society of Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS) and the American Psychological Association. Her research interests include randomized controlled treatment trials for PTSD using evidence based CBT treatment, epidemiological and neuropsychological studies of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, evidence based treatment trials using cognitive behavioral therapy for the treatment of PTSD and ASD, particularly with women survivors of interpersonal violence, veterans and police officers. Diana Kljenak is an Assistant Professor and a Cognitive-Behavior Therapy Lead for the University of Toronto. She is a Staff Psychiatrist in the Community Mental Health Program at the University Health Network in Toronto and a Consulting Psychiatrist for the Central Toronto and Regent Park Community Health Centers. Her primary teaching and clinical interests include both collaborative care and psychotherapy. She is a Psychotherapy Coordinator at the UHN Centre for Mental Health as well as the CBT Psychotherapy Core Curriculum Block Coordinator and CBT seminar Co-lead. She is a collaborative care supervisor and CBT supervisor at the UHN Centre for Mental Health. She is the President of the Ontario Psychiatric Association and a Co-chair of the Ontario Coalition of Psychiatrists. She is active in the Canadian Psychiatric Association as a Member of its Membership Affairs Committee. She was formerly a Co-chair of the Collaborative Mental Health Working Group at the University of Toronto. She has also been invited as a Visiting Professor to University of Tampere and Southern Psychiatric and Substance Abuse Centre, Helsinki, Finland. She is the 2012 recipient of the Ivan L Silver Award for Excellence in Continuing Mental Health Education, University of Toronto.

Rocco de Filippis completed his MD and PhD from Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome. He holds a Master’s degree and he improved respectively in Bipolar Disorders and Addictive behavior in the years 2011/2012. He currently works at the Institute of Psychopathology, Rome as a Psychiatrist and Addictive Medicine, and up to now presented as scientific coordinator of CME and Master of Addictive Behaviors; he is also an official candidate at the Psychoanalytic Italian Society of the First Italian Center of Rome.

Gregory P Brown, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and the Residency Training Director at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, Las Vegas branch. Michael Zirkler, started his professional life as an entrepreneur in the media field, worked as a campaigner for personnel marketing, eventually studied psychology and sexual sciences at the University of Hamburg (Germany), where he 2001 also earned his PhD. 2004 he was appointed as assistant professor (economics) at the University of Basel (Switzerland) and serves currently as a professor for work and organization psychology at Zurich University of Applied Sciences, School of Applied Psychology (Zurich, Switzerland). Stephen Michael Stahl is an author and professor of psychiatry with expertise in psychopharmacology. He is currently a Professor at the University of California, San Diego and serves as Honorary Fellow in psychiatry department at the University of Cambridge. He is also the chairman of Neuroscience Education Institute (NEI) and Arbor Scientia Group. Stahl also serves as the Director of Psychopharmacology Services at the California Department of State Hospitals as well as the Editor-in Chief of CNS Spectrums. He is an internationally recognized authority in psychiatry having published over 500 scientific papers, edited 12 textbooks and personally written 35 text books including the two best-selling textbooks in the field of psychiatry and psychopharmacology over the past twenty years. He has contributed significantly to the field of psychopharmacology through his research in the 70s, 80s and 90s, especially in the area of serotonin, schizophrenia and depression. In addition to his many academic contributions, Stahl is known for his 2015 novel Shell Shock and his expert contribution to exposing inadequate mental health care for returning soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan. From 1993 to 2003 Elías-Manuel Capriles-Arias filled the Chair of Eastern Studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Education, University of The Andes, Mérida, Venezuela (originally ascribed to the Dean’s Office and then to the Department of Philosophy). Thereafter he has been ascribed to the Center of Studies on Africa and Asia, School of History, same Faculty and University, where he teaches Philosophy and elective subjects on the problems of globalization, Buddhism, Asian Religions and Eastern Arts. Besides teaching at the University, Capriles is an instructor of Buddhism and Dzogchen certified by the Tibetan Master of these disciplines, Chögyal Namkhai Norbu; in this field, he has taught in Venezuela, Peru, Spain, Costa Rica and Chile. Sik Hin Hung is the Director and one of the Founding Fellows of the Centre of Buddhist Studies of the University of Hong Kong where he currently teaches as an Assistant Professor.He has published many books and articles on Buddhist Education, psychotherapy and personal growth. Dr. Joseph Indelicato is a Director of the undergraduate psychology department at the School of Health Science. He graduated from Hunter College with a BS in Sociology and from Fordham University with a master’s degree in Social Work in 1976. His master's thesis focus on the techniques to increase patient compliance. He earned doctorate in psychology in Applied Research and Program Evaluation at Hofstra University 1987. He is Director of Research for the American Association of Bariatric Counselors.He is a member of the American Diabetes Association African American Action committee, working on studying the effects of diabetes on cognition and medication compliance, and improve awareness of the effects of diabetes on cognition.He also worked as a forensic psychologist and has testified in over a hundred court cases, on issues as varied as child custody to neurological damage. He chaired the Health Sciences Institutional Review Board at Touro College for nine years until June of 2016. He currently heads the Touro College Research Collaborative.

Ann Macaskill is Professor of Health Psychology at Sheffield Hallam University, United Kingdom and Head of Research Ethics for the university. She is trained as a health psychologist and a psychotherapist. She obtained her PhD from Aberdeen University and then worked as a Post-doc at Edinburgh University. She then moved to the University of Sheffield and currently works at Sheffield Hallam University where she established a psychology degree. Zelda G Night is a Professor of Psychology at the Department of Psychology, University of Johannesburg. She is a registered Counselling Psychologist and a NRF Rated Scientist, and in November 2015, she was a 'Visiting Scholar' to the University of Valencia, Spain. Supervision of research has always been within the qualitative and case studies paradigm and located within the phenomenological-psychological research discourse, and to this end, three of her doctoral students have submitted their work for examination using this paradigm and should graduate in 2017. Her recent Master's students are doing psychobiographical research. She was always been actively involved in the development of psychotherapy, and in this regard, recently she was elected Vice-President of the World Council for Psychotherapy (WCP) (African Chapter) which is a global organization that brings together all five continents in terms of their promotion of psychotherapy and mental well-being. In 2014, a few of them from the African Chapter of the WCP organized a World Psychotherapy Congress in Durban, which attracted 52 countries from around the world. Part of her professional work also involves being a reviewer for six local and international academic journals, and she has extensive experience of being an External Examiner for both Master's and Doctoral theses. She is a current External Examiner for all Master's in Psychology training programmes at UKZN and University of Namibia. Briefly, her academic history is that she is a graduate of Rhodes University, Grahamstown, South Africa, where she obtained her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree and three post-graduate degrees in Psychology, including a PhD in Psychology in April 1998. She lectured at Rhodes University in the Department of Psychology for many years, leaving in 2008 for the University of Johannesburg. Subandi is a clinical psychologist graduated from Department Psychiatry, the University of Adelaide, Australia. His focus of research is on socio cultural aspects of mental health problems. In the last five years he has been working with Byron Good, a Medical Anthropologist from Harvard Medical School, to strengthen mental health services in Indonesia. This is very important because the number of mental health professionals (psychiatrist, psychologist, mental health nurse) in Indonesia is very limited. In response to this mental health gap, we develop a community based mental health team in primary health care centers. Since 2003, my research has mainly focused on emotion regulation (ER), especially in the context of psychopathology, for example borderline personality disorder (BPD) or depression (e.g., Barnow, 2012, 2014; Barnow et al., 2013; Barnow et al., 2012). In this process, my research has been driven by questions such as: "How do people regulate their emotions?", “Which mechanisms moderate the association between ER and psychopathology/well-being?”. Further, our research group has gained expertise in ecological momentary assessments of emotional processes during several projects (e.g. the Greifswalder Family Study supported by the Federal Research Community (DFG) and the collaborative project CANSAS supported by the Ministry of Education and Science. To summarize, my research has shown that emotion regulation processes are correlated with well-being and can predict the development and course of psychopathology. Considering these findings, we have developed an ER-group training called “Emotions Under Control (EUC)”, which I have described in a book published in the Springer Verlag (Barnow, 2014, 2015: Gefühle im Griff) and elsewere (Barnow et al., 2014). My work has resulted in 151 peer-reviewed publications (end of June 2015), I edited 41 book chapters, and 8 books. My work was published in well-respected journals of my discipline, including Psychological Medicine, Biological Psychiatry, Biological Psychology, American Journal of Psychiatry, Cognition and Emotion and NeuroImage. In the last five years he has been working with Byron Good, a Medical Anthropologist from Harvard Medical School, to strengthen mental health services in Indonesia. This is very important because the number of mental health professionals (psychiatrist, psychologist, mental health nurse) in Indonesia is very limited. In response to this mental health gap, we develop a community based mental health team in primary health care centers. Considering these findings, we have developed an ER-group training called “Emotions Under Control (EUC)”, which I have described in a book published in the Springer Verlag (Barnow, 2014, 2015: Gefühle im Griff) and elsewere (Barnow et al., 2014). My work has resulted in 151 peer-reviewed publications (end of June 2015), I edited 41 book chapters, and 8 books. Diana Kljenak is an Assistant Professor and a Cognitive-Behavior Therapy Lead for the University of Toronto. Her primary teaching and clinical interests include both collaborative care and psychotherapy. In terms of psychotherapy process research, I have examined the impact of the therapeutic alliance and of therapists’ use of theoretically relevant interventions on the outcome of different therapies. I have specific interest on models of therapeutic changes that incorporate both relational and technical factors. I have great interest in different methodologies to evaluate the efficacy of different interventions (from randomized clinical trials to naturalistic studies) Outside of treatment research, I have also conducted research on individual core conflicts, personality, and meta cognition in different populations including Children of Holocaust Survivors.

Dr. Ang Kim Teng Perceived Graduation from the University of Malaya in 1977, and obtained her Masters in Public Health (UM) in 1981. Dr. Ang has wide working experience in hospital and public health service management as well as health policy and service planning and development in the Ministry of Health Malaysia. She retired as the Selangor State Health Director in 2008. After retirement, she continued to work as a public health consultant with the Institute for Health Management, Ministry of Health till May 2014. Current Position: Hon. Secretary General, Malaysian Mental Health Association Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Caregiver Support., from May 2014 till now. (Past President MMHA, 2008-2014 May). Dr. Ang is an active advocate for mental health, and a regular speaker for the Malaysian Mental Health Association. Other Portfolios: 1. Member of Advisory Council for Promotion of Mental Health Malaysia ( 2010 till now) 2. Committee Member – Quality of Life Subcommittee under the Persons with Disability Council. 2011 till now. 3. Jasem Manouchehri was born on 27 Aug 1987 in Hamedan-Iran. He was 5 years old when he joined to a martial arts gym. Being a member of national teams in various national sport federations for 10 years, his athletic performance resulted to gain 52 medals in national, continental and world championships from 1996 to 2010. Then he become the head coach of national teams in several national federations and has succeeded to keep up with good results in coaching life. He was also graduated from Ph.D. course in Sport Management at University of Tehran and is a faculty member in Islamic Azad University-Central Tehran Branch which is the biggest higher education center in Middle East with 60000 students. 60 research papers and 11 various books of him have been published and used by students. Executive activities of him include Secretary General of Asian O-Sport Federation, Chairman of Athletes Committee in World O-Sport Federation, Founder President of Iran Sumo Association, Founder President of Iran Boules Sports Association, Executive Board Member of Iran Triathlon Federation, etc. His research interests is consumer behavior in sport, anti-doping in Sport, sport psychology, sport diplomacy.
